About The Festival
The Big Sound Comedy Festival was born 3 years ago out of the obvious need for Northern Ontarians to emerge from cold winter stupefication with invigorating and healthy laughter.
The idea was hatched as a partnership between Trestle Brewing Company and Icebreakers Comedy. The BSCF boasts fresh up-and-coming faces as well as established pros and our little festival has grown into the spring and fall each year in beautiful Parry Sound, Ontario.
We are proud to have partnered with CBC Radio Laugh Loud over the last 3 years to record and grow the spring Gala show at The Charles W Stockey Center for the Performing Arts. This show allows us to bring exceptional comedic talent from our the shores of the Big Sound of Georgian Bay and the 30,000 Islands over the airwaves and the internet to Canadians across our great land and further abroad. The festival boasts fresh up-and-coming faces as well as seasoned pros.
The comedy shows range from prim and proper clean to filthy with the Dirty Show! You learn some things over time producing these events, and one thing we have learned, is that while “dirty shows” typically sell slowly in other regions, in Parry Sound, they sell out really fast!
